What do you do, what do you do...

...when one of the people you know is in this direst of situations:

At a young age, SHE sired three kids from an unemployed scheming boyfriend whose expertise is wife-battering and petty drugs. SHE pays for the rent, buys and cooks food, breast-feeds before and after work, and is most of the time forced to bend over then ends her night with a black eye. SHE has nowhere to go to--her parents, who are now separated, live complex lives of their own--HER father lives with a new wife with a pack of kids he can hardly feed, HER sick mother lives with HER sister who's living-in with a jealous tomboy who pawned HER mother's pension fund for a small amount of loaned cash. SHE said SHE can't leave the boyfriend because of the kids--apparently, close relatives are not interested in looking after the kids. SHE and the kids (a baby, a 3, and a 6) once walked from Baclaran to Pasig (and somewhere else) looking for the boyfriend and a place to stay. SHE missed work recently because SHE was beaten black and blue by the boyfriend who found out SHE saves (read: hides) money from him.

Sounds like your typical telenovela plot. Sadly, this is a true story, and the question still, is unanswered.
